Presidential candidates from both parties try very hard to identify with the “typical American”. That can sometimes be difficult when the average net worth of an American household is $85,000 and all but two of the candidates are worth above $1 million (and one claims to be worth $10 billion). The Senator from Vermont has proven a strong rival in popularity to front-runner Hillary Clinton. In the wealth department though, she leaves him far behind. However, a net worth estimated to be over $700,000 is not too shabby for a Socialist.
